What is the Happy Sleep Plan?

The Happy Sleep Plan is a customized ten-day, five component plan for your child and family to learn healthy, happy routines for successful nights and naps.  This plan gives you the means to develop healthy sleep habits for your child.  This isn’t just a solution for their childhood; it is providing them healthy sleep habits for life.

But remember, each Happy Sleep Plan is customized to fit your child and family. Sleep is a multi-factor subject so, every plan will look a bit different!  This is why sleep training books or one-size-fits-all approaches fail because it isn’t adapted to fit YOUR family and child.

How is a Happy Sleep Plan created?

We start by having a free 15 minute consultation where we talk about your baby or child’s sleep issues and your main concerns.  After you decide on a Happy Sleep Plan, you will answer a questionnaire about your child’s sleep habits and daytime activities.  Then, I will design an ideal schedule and bedtime routine that we will talk through in a 90 minute in-person meeting, phone or Skype call.

What's the best sleep option for my child?

Each child and parent is unique and requires your knowledge about what type of temperament your child has and how exhausted you are right now! There are several Happy Sleep Plans or Happy Sleep Support to choose from and we can discuss what plan will work best for your situation. The most successful method involves a personalized plan or support because you are most likely exhausted and are finding it hard to figure out what to do and how to start. With personalized guidance I will give you the knowledge and encouragement to make the changes to help you and your child sleeping better!

What's included in a Happy Sleep Plan?

The most popular plan is the Personalized Happy Sleep Plan.  We will develop a custom schedule, have a 90 minute discussion about the plan and answer questions, you will receive one-on-one support through the first evening of the program,  you’ll receive follow-up email support, phone support, a private parent group if you have questions following the program, and most importantly you will receive personalized encouragement and guidance throughout the program to ensure results.  This plan works because I provide the guidance and answer questions for you when you are unsure about what to do!  Everyone can read a book about sleep, but it’s receiving the guidance that makes the changes successful and saves you time and energy  with figuring out how to implement the strategy and if you are doing it correctly.

Why should I use a sleep coach or sleeping plan?

The best part about The Happy Sleep Plan or Happy Sleep Support is the experience and knowledge you gain with helping your child sleep better!  This saves you time and energy with wondering how to get them to sleep or why what you are currently doing isn’t working!  This isn’t a ten-day program and then it’s over.  This is a skill set for life that you are developing for your child!  They will be happier, healthier children from getting the proper amount of sleep each day and night.  Once your child is rested they will have less irritability and mood swings.  They will be a happier child and you will be a happier parent!  Make sleep a priority for your family because it is vital to growth, development, and our moods!

Why should I learn about my baby's sleep before s/he is born?

Sleep is extremely important for newborns to grow and develop.  During sleep, growth hormone is secreted and helps your baby develop.  If they do not get proper sleep, their development can slow down.  It’s also important for brain development, nervous system development, and a healthy immune system.

By educating yourself early you will learn what to expect during the first few weeks and how to slowly develop routines and healthy sleep habits for your newborn.   Your newborn will have several night wakings for up to four months or longer and this is perfectly normal.  You should not expect or demand your newborn to sleep through the night!   With a newborn, we will discuss gentle methods on how to start your baby with healthy sleep associations and routines.

Newborn Happy Sleep Plan/Prenatal Prep is more about educating you about sleep cycles, sleep cues, awake/sleep times, sleep associations, tips for the first few months, talk about an ideal schedule to help sort out day/night confusion, sleep regression information, developmental leap cues, and feeding information.  The Newborn Happy Sleep Plan/Pre-natal Prep also includes six support emails with no expiration date so you can contact me with questions later.  The best part is if you do need help further down the road, the amount paid will apply to any Happy Sleep Plan upgrade.

It sure seems expensive to learn how to sleep! Why isn't it cheaper to use a sleep coach?

A trained sleep coach specializes in different sleep methods, age groups, maintains current knowledge on sleep, and health issues for children.  The Happy Sleep Plan is a three-week process and you are investing in healthy sleep habits for your child for life! If you think about the cost covering a three-week time frame and the benefits of the plan, the overall investment is pretty good!

If you purchase a plan in Sweden the higher cost is due to something called Value Added Tax (VAT) or moms.  This is a fee that is required by the government that comes from you to me and goes directly to the tax agency.  I am only a middleman in the transfer process and don’t get any of the VAT/moms.  The tax rate for services is a whopping 25%!  Yes, you read that correctly.  25%.

Does your method involve crying or leaving my child to cry?

No one likes change and crying is your child’s way of protesting change, and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest. That’s why I’m always sure to tell parents that my program will most likely involve at least some amount of protest on the child’s part.  We will talk about baby stress and what’s healthy and what’s not.  I only teach healthy methods that do not harm your child in any way.

Please understand that I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone, nor will I ask you to ignore their cries. The reason that The Happy Sleep Plan is so effective is that is allows you develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child.
